ABOUT
Our mission is to connect women from all walks of life and create a space and create opportunities for personal and professional growth. We hope to break down barriers and encourage success by linking people with specific skills and knowledge to people who are looking to develop similar skills and knowledge.
MENTORSHIP PROGRAM 2.0 EVENT
Thank you to everyone who attended our event, Mentorship 2.0, and those who sent their thoughts and good wishes. Your words of encouragement and showing up to support us, mean the world to us!
We want to especially thank the team of volunteers who made this happen. Thank you Melissa for always being positive and saying “we can do this”, for being an amazing host and for just being you! Thank you Rutu for taking up one challenge after another, being the organised one amongst us, and keeping us accountable and on track, all while doing a kick-ass speech on her mentorship journey. Thank you Brea for doing such an amazing job as a guest speaker and for being such a fantastic influence with the Flamingo Project’s mentorship program!
We also extend thanks to all the participants of the program for very generously volunteering their time and being involved as a mentor or mentees. This year we have had some amazing local women put their hand up, from human resource specialists to women in STEM who have come forward to mentor someone who can use their expertise. Thank you to our mentees for putting themselves forward, and identifying their strengths and goals with the guidance of their mentors. We cannot wait to see the great connections and friendships that will come out of this cohort!
And finally, thank you to our sponsors, Front Line Human Resources and the Department of Rural Health for sponsoring the event.
We will be back with more events, as this was just the beginning of something amazing.

I had the opportunity to have Angela McLeod as my mentor throughout this 6 month program. We explored subjects such as networking, community involvement, education, relationships and career goals. Thank you Angela for your support, guidance and knowledge. I have gained so much from this program.

Going through COVID, a lot of people lost opportunities for connection and it made me reflect on my experience, and in my job I’d been very fortunate to have a couple of people who became unofficial mentors to me in work and in life.
